Since my dad is no longer alive to ask, it was fun to find this out after so long by research. Jokes are important tidbits of information to me.
I truly love that I am able to remember my dad in this way while I fumble round for my keys thinking, "Where is my maple?"
My dad used to say jokingly, "I want my Maple, gimme my maple. Where is my maple?" Whenever he was searching through drawers or pockets for his keys or whatever.
I had it wrong all along. He was referencing an old kid cereal commercial, called Maypo. He was saying was, "Where is my Maypo?"
My dad had a lot of funny dad jokes that I didn't get as a kid, and Tony just helped me unlock one.
