They're deserved! Keep them bookmarked for when the panel takes any decision at all and the internet serial complainers come out of the woods to yell at everybody on the panel for it!

Nah, since people can't buy them even if they want to, Secret Lairs functionally don't exist

Fuck this frog not in particular (because it extends to his entire neighborhood too)

The other two go on the bottom of your library, so how are you doing this?

Stolen identity, a 6-mana blue sorcery that creates a token copy of an artifact or creature, and then has cipher, meaning you can give it as a combat damage trigger to one of your creatures permanently once it resolves.

Stolen identity I've recently put back in a deck because it's so fun, and if you can get two cast in the same initial turn, not that bad a rate.

The mechanics themselves are pretty fun but particularly with web slinging I looked into building with it and found... Two playable cards with it? Maybe three if I want to stretch? Mayhem fares marginally better but not by much.

Valor, the white member of the same cycle as Anger, Wonder, Filth and Brawn. A 4-mana 2/2 with first strike but that's irrelevant. As long as it's in your graveyard and you have a Plains, all your creatures have First Strike at all times.

Nacatl War-Pride, a 6-mana 3/3 creature that must be blocked by exactly one creature (if possible). When it attacks, it copies itself for each creature the defending player controls, including tapped creatures. The opponent has to block all of them with one creature each, which means one is always going to go through, plus one for each tapped creature, plus it prevents the opponent from blocking anything else. The tokens that survive combat are exiled at end step.

Survivor's Med Kit, a 1-mana artifact that can activate for 1 more mana and tap it, giving a choice between three options, two of which are relevant. Each options can only be selected once. The first is to draw a card, replacing the med kit, the second is to create a Food token, adding a second artifact on the battlefield. The third is to sacrifice the med kit and remove all rad counters from a player, which is mostly relevant to sacrifice it to bring it back.

Thrummingbird! A 2-mana blue 1/1 flying bird horror that proliferates whenever it hits a player, allowing you to add one counter of each kind to any number of permanents and/or players.

We see a lot of Anger and Wonder, a bit of Filth and Brawn, but not enough Valor. First Strike on everything is impossible to attack into!
Finally found a deck for Nacatl War-Pride and I'm very happy about that.
The Med Kit is a great curve filler for decks that just want artifacts.

Surprise Test! A Simic deck that uses Kianne to flash in both creatures and noncreatures that have effects that get better or more interesting at Instant-speed, and wins by drawing many cards.

Final note: This is my most recent paper deck, and I haven't gotten that many reps with it yet, but it scratches an itch of control play without, I think, being as obnoxious as most control decks. Plus, I get to play a lot of fun cards in interesting ways.

Illithid Harvester, a 4/4 blue Horror for 5, though it also has an adventure Sorcery on it. The sorcery costs X and two blue, taps X target creatures, and stops them from untapping for a turn. The creature half turns any number of tapped creatures face-down into 2/2s without abilities when it enters.

And a couple more for the road. Illithid Harvester is one of my underrated sweepers for blue and green, and both halves of it work even better at instant-speed, blanking all the creatures in an attack, or tapping down to avoid it altogether. Time Stop is already an instant, but still fun to use.

Lure, a 3-mana green aura that enchants a creature and forces all creatures that can block it to do so. It can be used as evasion on your own creatures, but in this deck it also can do some fun stuff when flashed in after attackers are declared, ruining a person's attack AND their opponent's blocks.

Vigor, a 6-mana 6/6 green Elemental Incarnation that tramples, and replaces all damage that would be dealt to your other creatures by an equivalent amount of +1/+1 counters. It also shuffles itself into the deck if it would be put into a graveyard from anywhere, to prevent reanimation.

Green also has its share of effects that work very differently when flashed in combat. Lure being able to be put on one opponent's creatures after they declared their attack is hilarious. And Vigor usually causes player to stop attacking you, but flash allows this initial burst of counters too!

Some notable cards: Some cards are fun to flash in because it allows you to use them to much better effect. Aura Thief is a backbreaking card if you can get it to die when you want, and similarly Fool's Demise is great at instant-speed in the middle of combat.

Bracket: 2
The deck doesn't really need any game changers to be good, it's in Simic, and plays rather fairly the whole time. With that said, since it always keeps up mana and has options ready, it can be difficult to play against if Kianne sticks around for a bit.

23.09.2025 14:12 — 👍 0    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

Because we need to win the game eventually, we take advantage of Simic's strength to generate a bunch of mana and cards, and turn card draw into our wincon. Either indirectly with stuff like Jolrael, or quite directly with Psychosis Crawler or Triskaidekaphile. Also Doppelgang at instant-speed.

There are more than 33 lands in the deck thanks to MDFCs and landcyclers, of course, but only technically 33 lands in the deck. The feeling that's created by the deck is hopefully the same one this Kianne was meant to inspire: that nightmare of being back to school for a test you didn't prepare for.

23.09.2025 14:12 — 👍 0    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

The main goal of the deck is to try to find effects that work differently, or much better, at instant-speed, and use Kianne to enable them. To make sure I use both halves of the cards, I imposed a restriction on myself to keep the 99 balanced: 33 noncreatures, 33 creatures and 33 lands exactly.

Description: Kianne is actually a more recent commander than I usually work with, but I've always liked keeping my mana up to do things at instant-speed I'm not supposed to, and she allows just that in two colors without being the usual Simic Valuepile. Though the deck still has those tools.

Kianne, Corrupted Memory, a legendary 2/2 Illusion for 2 a green and a blue. She gets a +1/+1 counter whenever you draw a card and alternates between giving flash to your noncreature spells or creature spells, depending if her current power is even or odd, respectively.

I feel like MH3 being on arena marked a turning point for these eternal arena formats. They weren't the start of them adding powerful cards to the client, but they led to so much old power needing to be added afterwards to try to be relevant after them that these formats are unrecognizable now.

I play this combo in my red deck and it's pretty solidly bracket 3. I tend to sus out the table. If it wouldn't fit the vibe of the table and early I don't tutor for it and/or hold a piece in hand. Most of the times when it happens the table is fine with it, even with randoms at bracket 3.

Among other things, onslaught block novels feature sex so appealing it makes a character vomit, a giant teddy bear, a pudding orgy, a giant Wurm in a shoebox, two pov characters who's main trait are being perverts, and more.
