Just had my second animatic screening as an assistant director. Going to celebrate by finally seeing ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER in Vista Vision at, where else, the Vista Theater. I think Paul Thomas Anderson would appreciate this.

THE HUDSUCKER PROXY: I try not to be a nostalgic but man oh man do I miss big ass sets, incredible miniatures and models, hand painted matte paintings, and that weird period in the 90s where people were obsessed with 40s/50s pastiche. A genuine miracle of a movie. My favorite Coen.

Taking my parents on a whirlwind tour of LA, starting with the ultimate cliches: El Coyote, the Farmer’s Market, the Grove and the New Beverly Cinema (ROMY AND MICHELLE’S HIGH SCHOOL REUNION). This city rules.
