I have a confession to make: I find drawing backgrounds / nature (as in landscape genre) extremely triggering and not relaxing at all.
It might have something to do with my art teacher from twenty years ago who said I'll never draw portraits and I should focus on landscapes and still life.

"Creative IT elite" as a like, motto or a selling point on the job searching site, and it's the most obvious ai users of a company I've ever seen.

Did it turn me away from trying to draw? Hell, nah.
Did it make me turn to a/i? Naaaah.
Am I good at drawing? Nope.
Do I get frustrated? Absolutely.
Do I plan to stop? NEVER

I had a shitty art teacher. Did it discourage me from sharing my drawings? For a while, yes (imagine being 6-7yo and this grown ass loud lady tells you you are a talentless fuck, and you should focus on something you fucking hate just because you can draw it 0,5% better)

When something gets annoying or overwhelming... Take a break. You can do it later.
You can do it. I believe in you. Nobody is perfect, we all have bad days.

today was a bad drawing day: everything is not looking like I imagined, everything hurts my eyes, everything is wrong. I don't like anything I've drawn today.
Do I give up? Nuh uh.
I'll try again tomorrow or redirect my attention towards something other.

The fact that my drawing style is even vaguely similar to one cartoon series I absolutely hate (to the point I lowkey wish they go bankrupt and go out of market) makes me want to never draw again ever. I HATE HATE HATE THAT STYLE I WISH IVE NEVER SEEN THAT FUCKASS CARTOOON

You weren't even born when I started drawing. And yeah, first steps ARE frustrating af, especially when you see the vision and can't bring it out on paper

And yeah, I did practice with observation and lots of messing around with watercolors and later with drawing software.

Reading this back and laughing so hard. He literally didn't listen when I offered him the same books I was obsessed with as a kid, the same books that made it look like I have some sort of natural gift, and said that is boring.

"Not everyone is born with an eye for color, Tea."
"It's a skill, and you can train it by observation. I can even explain it to you if you want, or give you my color theory books"
"Boringggg."

The conversation I've just had with my cousin:
"I can't draw, and you are mean to me for using a/i?"
"You can't draw, _because_ you use a/i. I can't draw either, but I'm learning how to do it"

I kinda prefer bold outlines in my own drawings, because it helps with my shape and depth perception, also WTF, THAT WAS A SKETCH, WHY DID HE FEEL THE NEED TO COMMENT
