One weird outcome: She left behind at least one dog and cat who were basically inseparable. Turns out the cat was pregnant and had the most melancholy looking kittens. Those are some Wuthering Heights lookin-ass kittens. Very much my mother's pets.

1 year since my mom passed. It was a frantic time, dealing with the mess she left. I've heard siblings divide the logistical and emotional labor of the loss of a parent. Being the only relative on-location, I kinda got locked into all-logistics and I'm still in that headspace. Still feels weird tho.

Back then, was there not a connotation of "crickets" meaning a tough/unenthusiastic audience?
