UW–Madison researchers have unveiled a scalable, cost-effective process to recycle lithium from spent EV batteries—without the high energy use or chemical waste of current methods. Led by Prof. Kyoung-Shin Choi, the team’s work is already attracting attention from global car & battery manufacturers.
