The last WeChat post from the embassy to receive over 10,000 likes (Since Trump returned to White House) was a short disclaimer published in April clarifying that the embassy account had never deleted or filtered user comments.

I no longer put much weight on likes and shares when I look at a social media post due to bots and platform algorithms but bots are not a big issue on WeChat (ID requirement) and I would have a hard time believing the app was amplifying US embassy's posts to users

The US embassy in China usually gets mid to lower-hundred likes for each of its WeChat posts. Trump's statement on the death of Khamenei got over 10,000. (On the other hand, the same post didn't do particularly well on Weibo)

Yeah itβs content at the end of the day. It gets him views and fame and gets people talking about him which is always good for a streamer

A lot of his videos are just him telling stories about his time in America and what America is like. Kill line was just the content that got him super popular in China

Kill line is about how fragile the American social safety net is that many middle class people are just one job loss or hospital visit away from sliding into perpetual poverty. Lao A (η’A) is the Chinese streamer who popularized the term

Anyway I think itβs very funny how so many people here treat Lao Aβs kill line as some kind of legitimate criticism. Itβs like taking Alex Jones or Nick Fuentes seriously because they once said something that resembled a point of view that you agree with

Very sad that kill line didnβt become a bigger discourse in the US because I was so ready to write something about its inventor Lao A after spending two hours listening to his race-mixing theory on Bilibili, which was so racist that I wanted to give myself a lobotomy

People like to make fun of Western media always asking "but at what cost" when they cover China's achievements. But I am of the opinion that it's always good to ask "but at what cost" when covering anything, especially AI

Media outside China has covered a lot of Chinese AI in terms of power competition and what new models just came out and how great they are. Need more stories on these AI debates inside the country and more focus on the impact of the technology.

Sensing a growing anxiety among general public in China over AI. CCTV did a segment on Seedance 2.0 the other day and the bilibili comments were all questioning if AI will actually lead to a better future. Seen a lot of social media posts complaining about AIβs negative impact in the workplace.

Insane. Rich Chinese man from Xinjiang had over 20 kids in California through surrogacy, kept them in his mansion, abused them, lost almost all of them to forester families, and is still allowed to have more babies.

Video game is actually the only logical medium for this one of the most overrated franchises. First movie was fantastic but then they just copied and pasted it three more times with increasingly comical fights. Might as well just call it Captain Underworld and have him join the avengers.
