Team brought to standby at the request of Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team to assist @lancspolice.bsky.social with a missing person search in the #Colne area.

Here's the twist.... the pictures aren't from this weekend, or from Scotland; they're of the team on search and rescue operations in #Lancashire!

Whilst it may not seem like the #Cairngorms and Lancashire have much in common, operating on snow and steep ground are the same wherever they are, and it's essential the team have the skills to operate whatever the weather or terrain.

This weekend some of the team have been at Glenmore Lodge in #Scotland undertaking winter skills training.

As a charity we rely entirely on donations and grants, so support like this is vital and ensures we are able to continue to operate and provide support to those who need us.

Reliable transport is essential for getting our volunteers where they’re needed quickly and safely, and this vehicle will make a real difference to how we work.

The minibus will be used operationally to transport team members during search incidents, training activities, and the many events we support across the region.

We would like to say a huge thank you to the West Lancashire Freemasons for their very generous donation which has funded the purchase of a nine-seat minibus for the team.

Rolling back the clock forty years to this week in 1986: one of the team's #LandRover ambulances and a #RoyalAirForce Wessex #SearchAndRescue helicopter on a training exercise.

The team are at Go Outdoors in #Preston today for their re-launch. Come along and say hello!

Yesterday some of our team ventured over the border to #Yorkshire to provide medical support at the 3 Peaks Cyclo-Cross race.

Thankfully there were no major injuries, but we did patch up several cyclists who had taken a tumble or five, and were advised on further treatment.
