Hey, Howard County, look what the Light Brigade has planned for you! A week of protests on the Gorman Road I-95 overpass!
First up, our Opening Ceremony TOMORROW, Friday Feb 6, from 3 to 5 pm. Then come back on Saturday morning at 11:00 for brunch.

We had 60 people out on the Gorman Overpass yesterday in support of the people of Minnesota. Responses from traffic were overwhelmingly positive. We the People want ICE out for Good!

She had to talk her mother into letting her come with her 2 uncles from the Eastern Shore. We spoke afterward about growing up in those times, and living in these times. She shared that later, she became a Black Panther hiding from the police. Now at 75 she continues the fight.

We turned to see an older Black woman steadying herself with an intricately carved wooden cane. She was 13 in 1963 when she stood at the back left corner of the reflecting pool to listen to Dr. King’s words. The kids craned their heads to see her.

History is all around us.

Yesterday at our local MLK event I spent time with the kids listening to a wonderful educator read Coretta Scott by Ntozake Shange. The children & I were captivated, and after she read the page about the March on Washington, we all gasped when we heard a strong voice from the back of the room…

I am here. We are in this together. You are not alone.
