For those of you with “only” local elections, remember that they matter! Where I live, the school board is pushing back against a plan to concentrate poverty in some schools while not impacting others. That wouldn’t have happened had we not pushed to elect equity-minded BOE members. #ElectionsMatter

This phrase wasn’t just at Auschwitz, it was part of the Nazi party line about “work camps.” This is the gate at Dachau. The panel describes the saying in more detail.

Our neighbor Jerry was Richard Nixon’s first drug czar. We lived two houses away from him for years only to discover this fact several years ago at a neighborhood bonfire. At 92 he’s still a very witty and entertaining guy. Never thought I would know someone who knew Nixon personally.
