Life is brutal. And He is always good.

I have several friends who are in crisis right now. They are begging God to move. For some relief. Some are feeling utterly abandoned by Him. I’ve been so frustrated alongside them. Doesn’t God want to offer them healing, protection, hope? Why, Lord, do you seem distant? Why do you delay?

Idk why it took me this long to realize that I am a grown up and can eat strawberries with Nutella whenever I want.

I can even keep eating Nutella out of the jar if I want.

I’ve seen a few around my hood, too. I’m waiting on these two particular Redbuds in my neighborhood to start showing off. They are one of the ways I mark the passing seasons each year. They take my breath away every spring.

Texted my boss to say I’m at capacity—been so busy and mentally reached my limit this weekend. Told him my plan was to skip my meetings and crash at a coffee shop to work this morning.
His response? “I affirm this plan!”
I am really grateful for that kind of healthy work environment.

The temps are in the 30s. Rain expected.
Naturally my kid has a baseball game this morning.

Dear God.

Just realized tonight is my 3rd evening at home for the month of Feb. (travel, school, work, small group, Bible study, family dinner, etc.)

It’s slowing down a bit (for my friends who were about to text me, don’t worry), which is good. But sheesh—no wonder I’ve been tired.

Multiple times today I’ve thought, “Good thing it’s almost the weekend.”

Reader, it is Monday.

It was heroic indeed.

Haha Ryan got us both Starbucks first thing this morning!

What is one to do upon realizing at 10:44pm that you are completely out of coffee for the morning?

I’m writing my first paper for seminary and am finding it challenging to switch modes from Bible teacher to academic. I write Bible lessons every week, but writing a theological brief is not the same. My brain is not cooperating.

Turns out I gave my coworkers 2 mins of very loud jazz mood music. (They were just about to say something, but enjoying it 😂)
