I am disgusted by the recent racist remarks from the current administration.
Yesterday we marked the International Day of People with Disabilitiesโa call to advocate loudly and proudly for disability rights and inclusion.
If you need somewhere to start, @neatoday.bsky.social has resources on everything from recognizing your own bias to supporting students with ADHD โฌ๏ธ
Ensuring that all students can access the excellent education that they deserve is criticalโthank you to everyone who works to make that possible for our students in special education. #NationalSpecialEducationDay
02.12.2025 14:32 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0We must support and respect educators.
We must address higher education costs.
We must take action against gun violence.
We must end student debt once and for all.
We must fully fund our neighborhood public schools.
We must create an education system that works for all.
Today is the 50th anniversary of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.
The landmark law transformed educationโmaking schools more inclusive for students with disabilities. But IDEA has never been fully funded or implemented.
We have a duty to advocate for it, so all students can thrive.

You may not know it, but November is National Family Engagement Monthโand parents and families are our best partners.
Students truly thrive when educators and families have shared trust, and collaborate to ensure student success.
An insult to students and familiesโannounced during American Education Week. Students need more support, not less.
22.11.2025 20:47 โ ๐ 6 ๐ 4 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0This #AmericanEducationWeek, I was lucky enough to visit Barrett Elementary School to discuss something that affects too many: food insecurity.
Between the shutdown and the food assistance cuts in Trump's budget bill, students are going hungryโand no student can learn on an empty stomach.
I had the privilege of visiting Barrett Elementary with @neatoday.bsky.social colleagues to kick off #AEW2025! A heartfelt thank you to the cafeteria workers who welcomed me onto lunch duty and to every education support professional who does the work behind the scenes so our students can thrive.

19.11.2025 18:11 โ ๐ 14 ๐ 6 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 1Today is #ESPDay, a moment to pause and appreciate the education support professionals who quite literally keep schools running.
Bussing students to school, feeding them meals, furthering their education, keeping their classrooms cleanโeducation cannot happen without the tireless effort of ESPs.
Shame on this administration.
Their latest attempt to dismantle the Dept of Educationโduring American Education Weekโis illegal and immoral. Not only do they want to starve and steal from our studentsโthey want to rob them of their futures.
Anyone who claims to care about children should be livid.
Members of @wearencae.bsky.social should be proud of all they are doing to keep their students and families safe, while ICE spreads chaos in our communities.
Fear-mongering has no place in our schools.
Thank you, educators, for all you are and all you do. #AmericanEducationWeek

A functioning government is the bare minimum.
Working families deserve more than this short-term deal that Congress has finally passed. We deserve affordable groceries, accessible healthcare, and leaders who actually work for us.
On Veterans Day, we honor those who have sacrificed in service of our country.
The best thanks that we can give now is protecting and upholding our democracy.
Reopening the government is a basic job duty for the party in charge.
No one should have to choose between providing their families food or healthcare. Yet Republicans are determined to deny bothโthey put politics over people. They must end the shutdown without robbing families of basic needs.
The very educators who dedicate their lives to serving military families are being forced to work without pay, and now the Trump administration is telling them they owe money to the government? This reflects a stunning level of chaos, confusion, and contempt.
Starving children and families to score political points is beyond cruel. It's vile and vindictive. The lives of 42 million Americans should not be used as bargaining chips. We will not stay silent while our students, families, and neighbors go hungry.
08.11.2025 02:12 โ ๐ 16 ๐ 11 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 1Despite federal court orders to use emergency funds to continue federal food assistance, this administration continues to put 42 million livesโchildren, seniors, familiesโat risk.
The chaos and uncertainty they are creating is cruel. It is shameful. It is dangerous.
