Didn’t appreciate the Lisa Trevor “placeholder audio” bait, but it’s safe to say that we can officially rule both characters out.

It's hidden nuggets like this that reinforce my appreciation for how closely CAPCOM was keeping to OG RE1 when making little changes to REmake.
The “Key for Room 001” started out as 002, just like RE1. You can see the "1" at the bottom of the texture that was eventually finalized into the model.
We could have had this...but Sephiroth snapped.

The broken double doors in RESIDENT EVIL REmake are no longer broken. We can now freely exit and enter the library via the 2F in addition to the 3F balcony.

same satisfaction. I wanted a more definitive version in the remakes and still able to appreciate going back to the originals for fun because they were still great in their own right.

That’s why it’s disappointing. If you’re content with playing both to get a full experience, more power to you. Unfortunately, I don’t get the 1/2

It did it even more so in both aspects than REmake did, but for both games I can confidently play them as the “definitive versions” of both titles.

Speak for yourselves. 🤣 Some wounds may never heal. You can see what 2R & 3R could have been like if they got the same respect REmake &, more recently as an example, RE4 REmake got.
They are solid modern RE gameplay experiences, I’ll give them that. They could have had the full course meal, though.
I won’t disagree. There are certain rooms in the OG mansion I prefer to REmake & vice versa.
The best part about REmake is that it’s virtually the same geography as OG with expansion, so you can just about headcanon whichever you prefer to the other.
You can’t say that about all the other remakes.
