It’s #internationalcatday so here’s a little cat linoprint. The inspiration for this was a ceramic cat made and decorated by #PeggyAngus The background (of cat’s heads) is a nod to her wallpaper designs. She also designed murals and tiles amongst other things.

The ethereal white deer at Houghton Hall which feature on their Coat of Arms. There is a sculpture by Richard Long in the grounds, which references the deers’ antlers, called White Deer Circle.

The very atmospheric graveyard at St. Mary’s Church, Bungay. The legend goes that Black Shuck killed and terrorised parishioners in the church on 4 August 1577 (the same day he did something similar at Blythburgh church)…

I dropped my ‘Ludham Dragon’ print off for the #Blackshuckfestival in #bungay & had a wander round the town looking out for Black Shuck signs, of which there are many. I love the town’s motto (last pic) - ‘Moribus Antiquis Pareamus’ - ‘Let us hold fast to the old ways’.

Just finished listening to this as an audio book (perfectly narrated by Ari Fliakos). Such a brilliant book on identity, relationships & marriage in the digital age. One of my favourite contemporary novels, along with Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver.
