I was about to post some random thought about games here and immediately saw that Catherine O’Hara had passed. I literally stopped dead in my tracks. What an actress, why a presence, her being in a movie always elevated it. I wish she could’ve stayed with us so much longer.

StarTropics. Really wanted to like this game because I think it has a lot of charm and some cool ideas. But the gameplay just isn’t for me and some parts really tested my patience.

A part of me does understand the frustration because it does hurt to lose specific characters and stories when a series still has life in it (especially in Sly’s case with that cliffhanger). But then I see people dedicate time to lists like this and I think, “Please play more indies.”

2. Soul Calibur II

Fun game! Not huge on traditional fighting games, but appreciated how smooth this one felt.

Replaying Pokémon Fire Red. Purposely going with a fairly meh team as a sort of challenge. Gotta say, Beedrill isn’t half bad if you teach them Aerial Ace.

Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly can be beaten in like a minute by clipping right into the final boss fight.

There’s a boss in Double Dragon that can be beaten by just walking away until the boss is offscreen.

Also the tent glitch in EarthBound.

1. Letters of Bernard Thorne

A unique and incredibly heartbreaking horror game. I’m no expert on PTSD, so I can’t really judge how accurately it portrays its themes. However, the writing is very strong and that ending was beautiful.
