The obsession with AAA graphics (particularly in Final Fantasy) has really strangled the franchise. I like pretty graphics as much as the next person, but it should be ancillary to story and gameplay.

Day 30: Your next Final Fantasy game

It's always FFXIV technically, but the next big standalone would likely be the conclusion to the Remake/Rebirth trilogy. 🎉

Day 29: Final Fantasy you want remade the most

FFIX and the PSOne titles in general need it the most. The games on that console have aged so poorly in general, and IX is one of the best in the series.

Day 28: Favorite title card

I'm hardly the first person to note this, but it's enormously instructive that our President and his followers saw the message "THE ONLY THING MORE POWERFUL THAN HATE IS LOVE" and understood it, correctly, as an attack on them

Day 27: Total Final Fantasy played

Can I just say all of them? There are some spinoffs I haven't beaten like Type-0 and Chocobo Mystery Dungeon, so let's just say 95% of them and call it a day.

Day 26: Most difficult boss fight

Zodiark was the most intimidating in OG XII because you couldn't save anywhere code to him, but hardest makes me think of Ozma in FF9. Or any of the Alexander raid flights in XIV when they were current content.

Day 25: Favorite world/setting

I knew my love for FFXII would really cloud this whole thing, but Ivalice wins without contest. The world in that game felt more alive than any other entry in the franchise, and the fact that they pulled that off on PS2 still blows my mind!

Day 24: Worst min game

FFX chocobo reading and it's not even close. I went through every human emotion doing this in my youth.

Day 23: Favorite minigame

I wasn't very good at it, but I loved Queen's Blood! Best version of a card game in FF I've seen

Not one character specifically, but the Red Mage in general. Always dapper, always fly as hell.

Day 20: Favorite story

It feels unfair, but Final Fantasy XIV has to take this. The 10 year buildup to Shadowbringers and Endwalker is perfection and still gives me goosebumps. There's a reason we like to emotionally leech on streamers experiencing it for their first time!

Clearly I'm obsessed with XII, so it has to be Larsa. He's a genuinely good person despite his circumstances and is actively working to improve everyone's circumstances

Day 18: Favorite spinoff, sequel or remake

Final Fantasy VII Remake/Rebirth are some of the best I've played recently in the franchise. It takes the original and enhances it in almost every conceivable way. We'll see if they can stick the landing in part 3...

Day 17: Favorite soundtrack

Favorite individual songs are spread throughout the series, but pound for pound FFXIV has SO many bangers! Soken is more than a worthy successor to Uematsu.

Day 16: Favorite summon or spell

Day 15: Favorite boss battle

I love the Gilgamesh fight in FFXII. It was a great throwback, challenging, funny, multi phased, and the added pressure of stealing the Genji gear was fun! Epic music too.

Dragon Quest XI S would be the clear winner for accessibility and quality. It's an absolutely charming entry and if you enjoy it, you can always work back through the classics and remakes.
