The exec that said "we thought it was farther along then it was" is absolutely the greatest issue right now. Not only is it not capable of doing any of these things on a broad scale, it will do them significantly worse than any employee. Going all in on something to boost stock value that fails.

Democratic socialists (&/or social democrats) have taken r/tankiejerk. Posts that praise NATO as well as those that oppose decolonization & BDS get massive upvotes. Anyone critical gets downvoted into oblivion. Anarchism is no longer welcome in a nominally anarchist subreddit.

What more could he possibly do to "assimilate" other than to fully embrace Zionism, U.S. nationalism, capitalism, oligarchy, & so on? Death to the USA & to assimilation!

Attacks on Mamdani for supposedly being "foreign" & having failed to "assimilate" show how racist, incoherent, & oppressive these concepts are. Dude speaks eloquent U.S. English, has overflowing charisma, & spreads a message that appeals to millions of U.S. citizens.

That's one rough grouping, yes.

We must defeat capitalism & statism so that we can get to actually interesting conflicts between anarchists. We're temporary allies against fascism now to create a future where we can fight each other.

I'd prefer an open-borders, anti-cop libertarian over a closed-borders, pro-cop social democrat. Both would be awful, & I'm not sure libertarians like that even exist anymore.

It's not a coincidence that so many social democrats & even supposed radicals are taking hard right turns in the current moment. Witness & remember.

Years ago, a local DSA leader accused another radical of being antisemitic for a joke I made about smashing a piñata of Bernie Sanders at community event. At this point, I'm not joking & really think we should do it.

I fully support deplatforming Bernie Sanders & everyone else who praises Trump for securing the border. This policy involves horrific violence against folks simply for where they happen to have been born. There's no excuse for pandering to fascism.

Many years ago, r/atheism banned me for opposing laws against face coverings. More recently, r/Albuquerque & r/unm gave me the boot for sharing news about the UNM Palestine Solidarity Encampment. Petty tyrants rule each of these subreddits. No mods, no masters!

I just got banned from r/Feminism without explanation for posting basic information about sex-worker organizations like Butterfly & Red Canary Song. Why is it that the worst elements in any given community tend to seize power on Reddit? 🤔

Even under the dubious narrative of gender & sexuality as strictly innate, plenty of people have the potential to move in various directions. Trans & queer liberation involves inviting everyone to explore possibilities as desired. You can be trans too!

I embrace proliferating queerness & the challenge it poses to nation-states. Acceptance & education do increase the number of folks who go against the norms of gender & sexuality. It's not simply a matter of being "born this way" & unable to change. We *are* recruiting! Join us.

Some LGBTQ folks today would excommunicate Gloria Anzaldúa for being queer by choice & Sylvia Rivera for going off hormones, deciding against surgery, & getting tired of labels.

Anti-trans bigots pretending to be feminists write disturbing fan fiction about us. They make up a guy to hate. Fight the patriarchy with us instead of bullying & harassing us.

Me: Trans folks don't have to disclose & shouldn't go to prison for consensual encounters.

Bigots posing as feminists: *vile insults, threats, dogpiling, scapegoating, & fan fiction about sexual violence*

Bigots pretending to be feminists target & scapegoat us because it's much easier than struggling against patriarchy.

A big problem across the political spectrum is that folks REALLY hate freedom.

Trans & queer liberation are not primarily about producing intelligible subjects—the trans man, the trans woman, etc.—as useful & necessary as that may be in the short term. It's about cultivating exploration, freedom, & play for all. You can be trans too! We're recruiting.

We do a disservice to trans history by remembering Sylvia Rivera simply as a trans woman. She went on & then off hormones, concluding that she "didn't want to be a woman" but wanted "to be Sylvia Rivera" & to sow confusion about gender via "pretending" & "dress up".

"Can a gay man date a trans woman? Can a lesbian date a trans man?"

Trans & queer liberation is about freedom. These labels can help us for the time being. We shouldn't let them constrain us. Bend & break them when they do. Be ungovernable.

Intellectual-property laws overwhelmingly serve the interests of corporations & imperialist countries in the Global North. It's wonderful that they remain absent or minimally enforced in various countries. We must remove them completely.
