At 5:16 p.m. that same day, hours after the laser system had been used, Mr. Ditlevson responded to the F.A.A. lawyer that the Pentagon was not changing its position on its use. "While I can appreciate your concerns, we feel we have met the statutory requirement to coordinate with your organization," he wrote to Mr. McKenna, copying senior Pentagon officials as well as staff members from the National Security Council. He noted that he "looked forward" to an upcoming meeting to discuss the lasers. Officials at the F.A.A. were furious, according to multiple people familiar with the fallout.

The El Paso TFR issued by the FAA even grounds medivac flights. NO EXCEPTIONS. Any flight operating in the area may be deemed hostile and βthe United States government may use deadly force against the airborne aircraft.β
Anyone needing a lifeline flight to a hospital or outside El Paso will die.
A sudden 10 day closure of airspace in a major US city like El Paso should be THE STORY, with nothing else getting any air time until at minimum someone within the US government says whatβs happening and why.
It barely even registers on CNNβs site. Itβs literally the last item before the page ends.
A massive scandal.
Kash Patel and Pam Bondi refusing to investigate the murders of American citizens to cover up Trump administration culpability.
Can't wait for the hundreds of regional jets to be grounded. And the A220s?? I'm sure United, Delta, and America are super excited for this.
More likely they'll apply it only to bizav if they bother to follow through. But what an ass.

At a time of unprecedented daily scandals, this this whistleblower complaint, and the memo it reveals for the first time, breaks through for me as beyond the pale.
It's the federal government conspiring in secret to subvert the Fourth Amendment.

π¨HOLY CRAP. An ICE whistleblower just revealed a secret memo authorizing ICE officers to break into homes without a judicial warrant, which DHS's own legal training materials say is unconstitutional!
ICE then hid the memo from the public, passing it along by word of mouth and private conversation.
Indiana is so much fun to watch. Love the intensity and aggressiveness combined with spot on execution.

18.01.2026 01:20 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A Minneapolis couple said that ICE agents deployed tear gas and stun grenades around them and their six children β the youngest only 6 months old β as they tried to maneuver their car out of a tense protest on Wednesday night. Shawn Jackson and his wife, Destiny, both 26, said they were driving home from a sonβs basketball game when the family found themselves caught in a clash between protesters and federal agents in North Minneapolis. The couple sensed the encounter could quickly spiral out of control, they said, but when they tried to turn their car around to exit the blocked-off street, they were surrounded by federal agents. βFrom the side, the front and from behind me, it was nothing but ICE,β Mr. Jackson said in an interview on Thursday. One agent told the couple that they needed to get out of the area. Ms. Jackson said she and her husband responded that they were trying to do exactly that, but their path was blocked by agents coming up the street. Then, agents let loose on the crowd, the couple said. The crowd-control grenades went off around them and one tear gas canister rolled beneath the car, Ms. Jackson said. A concussive blast β from the tear gas canister or another device, she wasnβt sure β rocked the vehicle, she said, setting off the airbags and trapping the family as acrid smoke billowed around.

Call your Congressional reps and ask them to add language explicitly protecting NCAR to the spending package:
