It is great that someone leaked these videos. BUT you have to KNOW NOTHING about how prisons work to be surprised that guards regularly violently punish incarcerated people who complain, file claims, talk to the press, etc. And by "work" I mean that violence is essential to how prisons function.

@handsoffnyc.bsky.social held an at-capacity training today for nearly 1,000 New Yorkers, covering Know Your Rights, ICE Watch, and organizing & mobilizing strategies. Then, they connected everyone to local neighborhood groups so they can work together to protect their neighbors. We’re going to win.

No need to imagine. The country incarcerates children as young as 9 years old daily in youth prisons and jails. Those children are routinely sexually and physically assaulted and also emotionally tortured. They are fed terrible food and given barely any education. This country has done this for yrs.

It's hard to overstate how ell-organized the portland march that got gassed was... organizers made the crowd promise to be peaceful, said the march would slow in front of the ICE building but not stop, that we would stick to one chant (ICE Out). They did absolutely everything right and got gassed.

I've been happy this week to see that some people have caught up to the fact that in MN and across the country, the resistance to fascism has actually BUILT ON what came before. The networks created in 2020 and earlier have been reactivated, expanded etc...

Tribal-owned hotels temporarily shutter in St. Paul due to ‘safety’ concerns Several tribal members had urged the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe to take action after it was rumored ICE agents were staying there.

CrimethInc just published an article about the noise demos and hotels shutting down in the Twin Cities that makes no mention of the fact that two of the hotels that did so are owned by the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe whose own members called for them to be shut down.
