They definitely needed to have more Mirror Universe episodes. DS9 got at least three of them. The last time they messed around with MU was Enterprise. Even then it was a one-shot and done deal. I believe there’s whole MU novels out there

In my headcanon, Nick Locarno and Tom Paris are the same guy. Same actor, nearly identical stories. They actually wanted the actor to reprise his role but they didn’t have the rights and renamed him.

They had plenty of episodes of TNG and DS9 set in San Fransisco so the Starfleet HQ and Academy got plenty of mileage. That’s enough for me, especially when an entire episode took place there (when Wesley’s flight team attempted an illegal maneuver and covered it up)

Fair, plus the cast was much better with the new uniforms. I can tell they were uncomfortable in the spandex outfits, so the change was for the better. Plus we got the Picard Maneuver out of it.

It was terrible but still watchable. I’ll be honest, I skip the bad episodes like *that* one. Its not all bad but there’s a reason watch guides exist. I also start TNG knowing there was a writers strike going on and figure “it was a sign of the times, the did their best despite the strike”

And in the modern era, it’s just embarrassing with the best show being animated and the best season of the worst show being the last (looking at you, Picard!). The minute they started talking about interdimensional transphasic magic space mushrooms on STD I was like “the fuck?!”

And to boot, DS9 started around season 5 of TNG to where you had several crossover episodes and references to DS9 in TNG. The writers were definitely at their peak there

That arc happens too far in for me to get invested. Its Trek, it shouldn’t get better when a new character shows up, it should be good from the outset. Even the theme song didn’t inspire me when I first heard it, unlike DS9’s. When that French horn comes in, you know you’re home.

Not to say that I didn’t try to watch it, I feel like I gave it a decent chance with friends telling me “it gets good, trust me” and all I could reply is “when?”

Aside from all the glaring continuity issues with the Torpedo counts and the massive scab on the series called Tuvix, gotta say I’m glad I skipped the series. After seeing DS9, Voyager felt like a massive step backwards in quality
