You have to own it when you are in charge. Pushing a regional institution to the brink of collapse is a problem Democrats must fix. You cannot underfund regional universities and expect to win rural voters. Fix it. Fund it. Support it. Stop starving it.

The only thing radical is accepting an endorsement from someone accused of ignoring sexual abuse and promoting it as a badge of honor. Cliff Bentz should show integrity by rejecting that support and demanding the full public release of the Epstein files, without exceptions.

Verified impacts of 2025–26 federal higher ed cuts are clear. Research funding reductions, threats to TRIO access programs, and proposed cuts to tribal colleges hit rural and regional universities hardest. These schools lack buffers, so rural students and local economies absorb the damage.

More than 300 people showed up for Oregon’s 2nd District forum because attention has shifted. Nothing about 2026 is settled. We can choose leadership that fights for working families and rural communities, or keep sending representatives who serve billionaires. The choice is ours.
