I was today years old when a body pillow I designed half a decade ago was shown on a Twitch stream.

Been a smidge stressed so I've slacking off instead of doing what I love. Putting the game dev stuff on hold while interviewing for this job I want at least.

Interviewing has to be one of the top five most stressful things ever for me.

And this is coming from someone who got hit by a car in Florida once.

Cause when pizza's on a bagel you can eat pizza anytime.

Gotten super distracted and started replaying Arkham Knight over the last week.

For some raisin I'm trying to 100% it again.

If they just cut both the militia presence and Riddler shenanigans in half I feel like it'd be fine...

Lol, if it weren't for the fact that I had a full background to draw and color I'd finish him tonight for you.

I always forget how influencial Nomura's art was to me as a kid, so drawing FF characters just feels right.

Like maybe if a character stands on a spot or performs an animation then the image will display?

I'm still fairly new but I hopeful I can script out certain triggers based on which line of text is on screen?

It'll not doubt be a massive pain but I would love to use my own art to literally paint the conversation instead of solely relying on sprite animations.

Question for anyone familiar with Godot! Is it possible to do cut scenes with still images?

Like if you get a villagers affection to a point you trigger a dialog scene, but at certain points a still image (hand drawn) displays on the screen like a comic book panel?

Like in Phantasy Star IV.

I think I need to start working on art for this game.

Following the tutorial I've got a character that can move around a tiled area and cut bushes, but since it's not *my* game I'm only so excited about it.

The lighting in this picture is incredibly beautiful! It gives me inspiration since I've been practicing with light sources.

I also feel this as an asexual tho. Like I know the women I draw can be busty, but the comments I would get on Twitter were so bizarre. I didn't even know what gooning was...

I want to draw Squall Leonhart so I will be doing that. I played FF8 in the eighth grade so my moody boy means a lot to me.

Hopefully he doesn't get stuck in limbo like my other two FF illustrations...

Ah, gotcha. Well if you get back into it maybe in 5 years from now you'll be publishing your dream game.

Yeah it's hard to take one step without getting some form of AI slop on your shoes.

Pretty sure the playable character for my concept game is gonna be a druid due to the farming, potion brewing and magic mechanics.

I am fighting the urge to give them a tail simply because I think it'd be cute and it would allow for some expressive animations.

If you're interested in trying game dev I recommend Michael Games' tutorials. I'm on episode 4 and it has been very comprehensive.

I passed up on Unity cause I think it's more for 3D? I'm making a sprite game, at least for now.

I passed on Game Maker partly because of a gut feeling, but also Godot is open source/free and the more comprehensive tutorials were more well rounded.

Plus Godot has 3D functions as well.

I'm sure I made the most amateur mistake haha

I have only a few hours of experience and I'm following a thorough guide so I'm trying to go easy on nyself.

Godot player state machine got me stressing over why my little sprite guy won't move anymore. Definitely one of those moments where I'm gonna start over instead of combing through all the code to see what's wrong.

Also I have no idea what's wrong so there's that.

If you want to just binge some youtube, Excal's Art Tips is pretty good for anatomy. Helped me with my understanding of ribcages and stuff.

Phase 1 for me is to make a character with a full walk cycle and enable them to walk into a shop or something and speak to an npc.

Oh crap I forgot I have GarageBand on my laptop! Guess I'll try that lol. Thanks for the encouragement tho! I know my goals seems a bit ambitious, but we'll see what happens at the end of a few years.
