You know those liminal photographs of abandoned malls? That's my mood lately.

I may be up and around and functioning, but emotionally I am in a towel, sitting on the edge of the tub, staring at the bathroom wall.

Finished another West Wing watch-through and almost immediately started it over again. Need my emotional support fictitious President and administration.

During the holidays, I finally got over the fear of doing it wrong and made my first yeasted bread. I chose to do a festive apricot cranberry couronne. Ended up making three of them in the span of a week and a half - this was the second one:

To fight back against this world being difficult, I am baking bread.

Get you a bowl with a handle. Eat out of a vintage glass measuring cup. It's fun and helps with eating while sitting on the couch. You can pour into your mouth using the spouty part. That's it, that's the thought.

If you see me casually eating a Fruit Roll Up, just know I am actually saving my own life.

They're my go-to low blood sugar fixer if I'm out and about.

My tablet just autocorrected "I'm nervous because" to "I'm nervous beanbags" and you know what? Valid. I am a nervous beanbag.

The most infuriating thing about being sick is the nearly unfixable high blood sugar. The first sign that I'm finally getting over a cold is how insulin suddenly seems to work properly again. I'm so tired and aggravated.

1. My gynecologist's only open appointments being 7-7:30am in the couple days before Christmas.
2. My phone insisting that the word "Crack" must be capitalized no matter what.

The sheer amount of extra decisions and considerations the chronically ill/disabled have to make per day...the constant, never-ending hypervigilance and hyperawareness is a completely foreign concept for people bot experiencing chronic illness/disability. It's no wonder we're exhausted.
