Energy transitions can happen faster than we think:

In 2000 almost 90% of Denmark's electricity was from fossil fuels.

In 2024 less than 10% of Danish electricity was from fossil fuels.

For those of you wondering how the shutdown is affecting air travel, my United flight sat on the tarmac in Houston after we landed for half an hour before we could go to the gate, my connecting flight boarded 30 mins late and now we’ve been sitting on the plane for an hour unable to depart…

Enough! This is exactly why ICE should be required to identify themselves.

If ICE looks like criminals and thugs, they should be regarded as such.

Imagine if when we invaded Iraq, three years in we only took a sliver of the country at the cost of 800,000 men.

Would the conventional wisdom be that we are winning? No? Then why do some think Russia is?

Typically in a case like this, arrest would only be used if the accused was a flight risk, a danger to society, or at risk of destruction of evidence. Otherwise you would just file charges. This is very unusual.

How Trump team turned a dinner invite into a crypto boon worth millions iNearly two dozen crypto wallets acquired more than 100,000 $TRUMP meme coins, worth roughly $100 million, after the team said top buyers could join the president for dinner.

New: We analyzed Trump's meme coin -

At least 27 crypto wallets have picked up $100 million worth of $TRUMP coins since his team said the top holders would join him for an "intimate private dinner."

A portion of John Quincy Adams' Amistad argument before SCOTUS: "I will not recur to the Declaration of Independence--your Honors have it implanted in your hearts--but one of the grievous charges brought against George III. was, that he had made laws for sending men beyond seas for trial. That was one of the most odious of those acts of tyranny which occasioned the American revolution. The whole of the reasoning is not applicable to this case, but I submit to your Honors that, if the President has the power to do it in the case of Africans, and send them beyond seas for trial, he could do it by the same authority in the case of American citizens. By a simple order to the marshal of the district, he could just as well seize forty citizens of the United States, on the demand of a foreign minister, and send them beyond seas for trial before a foreign court."

Was just reading John Quincy Adams' oral arguments before SCOTUS in the Amistad case and this part seems, uh, pretty relevant

The text of the NC bill provides an exception if you are wearing β€œto prevent the spread of infectious disease.” It’s kind of vague wording, but doesn’t specify that the wearer must be infectious.
