Expanded ICE funding is bringing harm and instability to communities, paid for by cuts to food assistance and health care.

Dignity and safety must remain central.

Federal changes to SNAP mean more Minnesotans could go hungry and Minnesota will face new costs - Minnesota Budget Project In legislation signed into law on July 4, 2025, Congressional Republicans chose to enact the largest cut to food benefits for very low-income people through SNAP in its history.

For the first time in #SNAP history, food benefit costs are shifting from Washington to states. MN may have to pay an extra $86M a year for SNAP benefits starting 2027. If MN cannot meet these new costs, it could mean a loss of food assistance for hundreds of thousands of Minnesotans: bit.ly/4oXH7NG

Republicans Must Negotiate to Prevent Health Care Cost Spikes, Protect Funding Laws | Center on Budget and Policy Priorities Republicans are claiming their short-term continuing resolution is business as usual, but nothing about this moment is normal.

The Trump Admin’s threat to illegally fire more workers if the President doesn’t get his way is blatant extortion: using working people & their families as pawns in a power play with no concern for who gets hurt.
