When I come around to the topic of land again (probably not for a while), would you mind sharing your two experiences?

Although our numbers seemed 'crazy expensive' at the time, as soon as we got it valued after construction (and assuming we could actually sell it in the real world at that value) we made a 23% profit.

He always seems like a nice guy. And he's done a stunning stint on Radio 1 breakfast. Six years and counting. Will he topple Chris Moyles' 8-year record?

It's also interesting what's happening in the property market. My parents are saying all their friends are struggling to sell their houses at the moment (these might have started as modest houses but have been added to over the years). Is the societal wealth running out? Or a stamp duty problem?

Brexit was a disaster. I wish there was a reverse gear.

Normally when we're talking about profits it's because of the commercial market, the five or so major house-builders in the UK, and I'm sure they are doing everything to protect it! I wonder how many self-builders realise a profit the moment they finish... but you have got inflation over the years.

Letter writing sounds like it won't work but you never know the circumstances of the person you're contacting. The estate agent route is alive and well, even if it generally increases competition.
