I thought maybe it would have to do with slowly reseting the verts by time to their scale on the noise texture thats there but maybe not

Ok its very subtle but now you can have an effect while moving through grass. If i overdo it, its bad...and I'd like to make more of a 'stamped down' effect so its not just a radius. I think i know the concept of what to do but now -how- exactly...

Anyone using terrain3d with Godot? Iโm trying to get player interact with a script on my meshinstance of the grass but it doesnโt seem the script is executing when used with T3d but it works in a scene by itself to pass parameters to the grass shader. Shader works in T3d alone.

Different types of grass tested out, still got more work to do to keep refining what i like and dont like, next up is wind and player effects on it (Thank you to everyone whose helped so far! I still dont understand shaders much, but its making a little more sense)

I'm always down for curiousity's sake, I'm gonna keep playing with the traditional route of shaders on meshes for now just cause i want to try a variety of things. grass is super important to get right for me, i dont know why LOL i love sneaking around it in in games like TLOU
05.12.2025 05:55 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Grass Test number 2, instead of vertex stuff, I just modeled clumps in blender and set the UVs to a gradient. Looks better but not great, i know some wind shader stuff will help, but I think I'm gonna try more styles too.

I wonder if maybe my plane was just too big and i should've subdivided a much smaller plane many times and then use more planes to fill it all out
