The thing is, teachers have to be willing to call out students for doing it. I can see how that would be risky, given how f'ing ridiculous some kids' parents can be these days though! I imagine it's quite different in K-12 than in higher ed.

What nobody seems to be mentioning here is that papers & other assignments written by LLMs are extremely easy to spot. At my college, the professors each handle it differently, but I've seen some fail the student outright and others allow them to turn in another attempt...
