Itβs nice that it arrived a bit early this year, unfortunately itβs supposed to be a dry winter.

Yup. Same same.
The good ones back in my day were stainless steel.
Sometimes pumping nippers and exploring the tidal flats was more fun than catching the fish.
I think she will...

And we made it home.
The question is - will Twig ever forgive me for abandoning her right when a huge storm hit the island?
Oh cool. Interesting.
Pumping for nippers is a popular activity here and sometimes mud flats can be treacherous.
Also you live in one of the best places on Earth!
28.02.2026 08:41 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Nice car! Well done!
28.02.2026 08:38 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Me too. But these days only EVs, especially the latest and greatest, and no Tesla of course.
28.02.2026 08:38 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0We have them in Australia too, but we call them nippers. And they are a popular bait for fishing for species such as bream.
28.02.2026 06:09 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I miss certain things in my Polestar 2 like the Google operating system and the sporty drive but the Zeekr is so comfy and luxurious and a lot better for car camping with camping mode that leaves the AC on all night plus just a heap more space to stretch out.

Nice! I'll pop it in the post!
Good to know he got his car and fridge.
Heya! It's Zeekr 7X, part of the Geely family that also owns Polestar Volvo Lotus.
It's also designed in Sweden and shares its platform with the Polestar 4.
This is the performance AWD version with 640 horsepower so it needs the big Akebono brakes!
They couldn't get me on the 3pm sailing, but I'm on the 4pm on the SPOKI.
Interestingly they didn't park the EVs and hybrids at the front and there is the fuel truck but it must be hauling diesel not ULP.
Called the vet and hopefully I can pick up the Twig tonight when I get to Kingscote.
I was booked on the 6pm ferry, but they got me on the 4pm sailing, with a chance of getting on the 3pm.
So now I'm kicked back in the Zeekr lounge, seat laid back, watching some YouTube.
It was! I ate half and put the rest in the car's console fridge.

No Twiggy for the PlugShare photo.
So have a vanilla slice instead!
They should all be tap and pay.

Very nice! It's such a good feature.
Stay warm.
Ahhh yes - home of the legendary whiting burger!
27.02.2026 06:39 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Interesting. Great to have another option though. OTRs are all over SA.
27.02.2026 04:56 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Nice! Let's go Greens and let's go Gorton!

Checked into Adelaide Hilton and got the Zeekr valet parked.
Concierge Jeff is a big Zeekr fan, having watched my 7X delivery video on the Chinese video sharing platform bilibili where someone had copied it over with commentary.
He said he'd subscribe to Kangaroo Island TV on YouTube. Very cool!
Yup. All great spots!
Venus Bay is on the west coast half way between one of my fave SA towns Elliston and Streaky Bay.
Thanks! Just a flying visit this time, but I'll be back!

Ohhhh. I'll always have a soft spot for the 3.
Now I'm looking forward to seeing the 4 wagon too.
Just wasting a bit of time checking out the beaches of Adelaide for the first time, driving the Zeekr 7x up and down the Esplanade at Glenelg and Brighton.
Nice but not quite Kangaroo Island!
No, for the Country Press Association awards. I'm a finalist in Excellence in Journalism category π
