What we did was swap players but also lost the depth and strength off the bench we had. I think this season is simply we changed too much, too quickly, we lost Jota and injuries in key areas have compounded it all.

We're all looking at results, tactics and solutions but some won't come until June.

Personally i think the performances got worse due to the increase in Champions league and less breaks, that wore sides down as the season went on and we looked jaded, we went out of cups and rest reappeared and we got over the line.

Arsenal for example, went and added more players, City too.

I am talking over the course of the season. Endo or Grav at CB or last 20 where Ekitke is about to blow. The last 20 last year we turned so many games from the bench, this year is the opposite because we are often covering positions or don't have a natural like for like.

I watched us have two keepers on the bench and a youth player who has made a handful of appearances for multiple games and you want to say options are not a problem.

I have and will point the finger at Slot for things this season but he 100% lacks options because of poor planning.

We've been playing square pegs in round holes for ages and you want to truly assess tactics right now.

It's fine you want him out now. Until we have options from the bench and rotate more, this won't get much better until the summer.

I am advocating fixing a squad that lacks depth. Bit of a difference. Poor old us with our 450m spent in the summer and here we are calling for the youth more because our established international players are knackered or out of form.

I don't but where's the raw pace to replace Mo / Cody / Hugo right now. If we can rotate players we can ask them to play a certain way.

I've watched Klopp and Pep for years, they would take players off and bring like for like pace, wingers, full backs or strikers. We can't right now!

Did you complain when Klopp lacked pace out wide & we struggled away or when he attacked, we conceded goal after goal on the counter? He didn't change the way he wanted to play, he carried on, then changed the individuals in certain areas.

You could argue Slot is at a similar year 2 build point.

It is a load of nonsense. City and Arsenal are replacing Internationals with Internationals and you're here saying use the youth. And yes, I would use our youth more in certain games but the very fact we are calling for that shows the desperation to try something different, doesn't make it right.

If you look at my timeline I have been consistent in slamming rotation & the use of the squad could've been better for sure, but there's multiple issues. Between Slot & Hughes they thought we had all bases covered this season when really we've not replaced positions that Klopp had issues with.

I don't have time to post 700 posts on it all. Slot is frustrating with his lack of using Nyoni, Morrison, Ramsay or Rio in certain games but the squad lacks options.

You talk absolute nonsense. Only Bradly and Leoni... Wolves away had no Isak, Wirtz and Endo two of which are 100m signings casually forgotten about. Frimpong could only do 60mins as he's just come back. No back up 9.

Squad depth is a problem! Everyone can see it.

We've also had a lot of new signings, changing system and dynamics with a truck load of injuries and no depth. Nothing is ideal but there are fixes. Like i've said, if it is Xabi, fine otherwise I think he stays and the suits go with phase 2 of the squad build.

Absolutely is - open your eyes. We had zero established backups to replace our forward line after 65-70mins vs Wolves. Rio is exciting, but the fact he's the only stand out option currently shows the issue. Last year we had Diaz/Gakpo/Jota/Darwin/Mo/Chiesa/Elliott ...not the same now!!

The drop offs from Mo, Cody, Alexis, Isak injured, with Wirtz, Frimpong, Kerkez taking time to adjust, 7 different RBs, no back up CBs at times, oh and also Diogo passing away. There has been a lot of change. Yet, i look at the squad and still think we are 3/4 players short, said it in the summer.

So you expected a title in his first season? Surely not.

I did not expect the drop off like this but I can see why it has happened and the solutions needed.

Slot absolutely could have done things differently, he's tested my patience, but I also think he knows what is missing, he's said it.

Yes. What we need are bench challenges. Let the refs take control and if the bench sees a replay and wants to challenge they have two per game to do so.

What he did was raise expectation amongst #LFC fans. Pep's struggling right now too. We cannot buy our way out of the problem mid-season or rebuild in one window. We need more fit pace and physicality - that will change loads.

Happy for you to disagree but my point with Arsenal / city is they’re bringing established players off the bench to keep speed or energy. We’re all getting excited over a 17 year old & Chiesa as they are the only options.

So new players WILL change the squad right now but they aren’t coming yet.

I’m frustrated, he’s made mistakes but there’s something about Slot, and he hasn’t created a side to his blueprint yet and this is how I expected last season to play out, but after a title comes expectation and rebuilds go backwards before they go forwards nine times out of ten.

He’s a problem currently because he won’t use the bench to keep a freshness in the squad imo, for whatever reason that is what could get him the sack.

If Slot stays, there is hope though, because it’s obvious to me what we lack - better options to rotate and use from the bench.

Now go and have a look at how many times pep replaces his wide players to run at tired full backs. Doku, Savinho, Foden, Marmoush, that’s options. Salah doesn’t have a back up, Gakpo’s back up is a kid.

Same for Arteta, both have lots more options.

You HAVE to be interested in signings & what they might bring because we’re lacking key attributes.

We don’t have enough pace in the squad, physically been bullied in midfield at times, defensively short & we sold depth.

There’s a lot of bizarreness from him generally this season. A lack of rotation and freshness kills us most weeks, yet last year he would make half time changes and use the likes of Endo. He chose not to do that this season much. Our drop off last 20mins is huge!

I don’t disagree and that’s the big stick or twist. I do think Slot is quite self aware, but also stubborn, but without knowing what they are going into the market to address then it’s hard to say what could change.

Diomande, Olise would be huge signings, with a more mobile midfield.

I think Slot and Edwards know that the deficiencies in the squad can’t be fixed this season.

It’s Klopp pre Fabinho all over again for me. There’s an energetic protective hole in our midfield, along with a lack of raw pace out wide.

Slotball won’t improve until we have options for him to use. We keep losing games in the last 15 mins with players on the pitch who are dead on their feet, last season we were turning games in the last 20 due to having a decent bench.

We’re missing pace and physicality from last year.

He’s annoyed the crap out of me with his lack of rotation & certain selections but he’s said a few things that make me think he knows we need more pace, more engine in the midfield & team height.

It’s about what they’re planning for phase 2 of building his team. But, Xabi… Stick or twist?
