Yesterday I went into contract for my 2nd Book “The Four Rooms” with my publisher W. Brand Publishing. After I read through the entire contract I discovered something. It was fair! It was generous! It was clear! It was straightforward! That’s right! Suck it! greedy predatory publishers!! To be clear, I already knew this from my 1st book but I wanted to reaffirm my love for JuLee Brand and her mission. Stay tuned more to come. 🙏🙌🥰

They grew up practicing school shooting drills, never knowing if their day would come. They went to college, clung to precarious dreams while the planet burned, and graduated buried in insurmountable debt. At a time when they should be finding love, hanging with friends, and living a life, instead, they are fighting for a life they can't even see. We haven't even begun to grasp the millions of stories shouted from rooftops -stories of people suffering, dying slow, agonizing deaths while their families lose everything to medical bills. Most of those stories are never seen because they don't matter to CNN, Fox, or any major media outlet. They are too busy with garbage and more addictive stories.

Consider yourself lucky if you have a decent medical plan to soften the blow of a catastrophic emergency. Most of America doesn't. Entire states are abandoned to greed, their elected officials puppets of lobbyists whose investment portfolio grows. This is not a system—it's a machine that crushes lives. It's murder at scale. So yes, someone snapped. A two-degree Ivy League graduate took drastic action, believing it was a stand of integrity, even in its insanity. He sacrificed everything to send a message. People have set themselves on fire in protest over issues they feel invisible around-greed, war, etc.

It's horrific. Every angle of this is horrific. We shouldn't be here. None of this is okay. None of it is right. But don't mistake him for the problem. This was specific and intentional. He's a symptom of a sickness, a soul sickness, that isn't his. It doesn't belong to him. He inherited it. And he won't be the last. A disillusioned generation is staring down a future that offers them nothing but despair. This should be a wake-up call, but instead, it's drowned in the noise of internet opinions. No one's going to do anything about it. These kids are exhausted-exhausted!! -from trying to save futures that they've been clearly shown don't matter.
