From the Legends at Hope Rocks: Hope Answers Dear Readers, I'll share another episode of the HopeCast soon, but I wanted to highlight the mission of Hope Rocks, a wonderful organization that The Autistic SuperBlog proudly stands by, 100%! Let's face facts, life is hard, addiction is easy to slip into, what starts as a habit quickly becomes something you feel is the only thing keeping you alive. As a fellow Spectrumite, I know how hard it is to forgive yourself for past mistakes, but the important part of this post is to help you all know that you're not alone.

(Repost) For Those in Need of Light For those who feel life is hard, for those who feel hopeless, for those who’ve lost someone close to them, for those in depression and feeling overwhelmed. Dear Readers, this post is for you to give you hope and light against the darkness. I know that things might feel rough now, that things feel tough (which they can be) but it’s not to say that we can’t rise above the dark times. I know, I’ve been there more than once. Know that you’re not alone, I know that it feels overwhelming, but you’re not alone, you can get through these tough times.

(Reposting Again) Once Again, into the Jungle So, I have a question for you all, Dear Readers: what do a police officer, an awesome autism advocate and a Dave and Busters have in common? Well, they all mean something great to me and that also were people I got to saw yesterday on my first day out of quarantine. My friends and I decided to go to a Dave and Busters to celebrate our collective freedom, but I decided to get there early and check out what was happening a bit early. Enter the aforementioned Police Officer. The police officer in particular was someone I didn’t remember until he noticed me walking inside a local mall.

(Reposting Again) The 50th Power of the Prompt!!! How do you balance work and home life? Dear Readers, if this prompt came up one year earlier, I don’t know that I’d have an answer. I was always focused on earning more, to my ultimate detriment as I found out later. Now, in contrast, I can tell you confidently that I know how to give an answer. I was able to reduce my hours at my job due to Social Security as well as my Autistic Burnout. It may seem like a small change, but in all honestly, it was the change that I needed to do.

(Repost) Still Never Alone: You’re Still Au-Some!! I know I haven't written much about autism lately (and for that, I'm sorry) but I've been saving the best of autism empowerment for the last day in April. So I just want my fellow Spectrumites know that you matter, whom you are, what you want to be, your hopes, your dreams, your aspirations, your flaws and your strengths matter. I know that our life isn't easy, what with social rules, misunderstandings and just bad cards that are given to us, but know that you're not alone, no matter how isolated you might feel at times.

(Repost) We Are Family, We Are Stronger Together (featuring TheARC NY) Some context is needed for the following video, Dear Readers. I was asked to contribute to the video and I was more than happy to do so, as I am to share this video. That being said, this video isn’t about me, it’s about showing the talents we all have, disability or not. There’s something to be said about the message for us all. Please help The ARC NY, both DSPs and those who depends on them all be stronger, together so we can all…, Shine On!!!

(Repost) From the Fabulous People from BuzzerBlog: This. Was. Painful! To give a context to this video, Dear Readers, I need to bring up the Press Your Luck bonus game, known as the Big Bucks Bonanza. Long story short, you take spins and you go against the board to build up your total, if at anytime, the total in the bonus round reaches $500,000, the game ends and the player becomes a millionaire. This makes the following video (thanks to the wonderful friends at BuzzerBlog) so painful. So much so that no words can do this justice. All I can say is that I don’t blame the guy for playing on as he did, he wanted to do what all game shows do so well, he wanted to change his life for the better.

Last Week, A Lucky Place to Meet a New Bishop I guess you could say that I had the luck of the Irish on my side last week, Dear Readers, since it was at Our Lady of Knock Shrine in East Durham where I met the new Bishop of Albany, Mark O Connell. As I’ve mentioned before in the above Hot Take, I have wanted to make sure to congratulate Bishop Mark on his appointment, but also I wanted to represent the local Autism Community as a Roman Catholic. If you consider what happened six (!) years ago, Dear Readers, could anyone blame me for doing so?

(Reposted Again) Poetry Packed Out: Autistic Superkid Dear Readers, you might be wondering why The Autistic SuperBlog is so named, but it has a purpose. Autistic Superkid is a poem I wrote some time ago and I consider it my signature poem. After I had it published in Chronogram, it was accepted by Codhill Press for Riverine: The Anthology of Hudson Valley Writers. To say that it says a lot about my journey is a true understatement. I’m very proud of Autistic Superkid, which goes without saying. Personally, being autistic can be daunting, especially when you feel that there’s a stigma to it.

One More Sincerely Humble Open Letter In celebration of Yom Kippur, even though I'm a Roman Catholic, I think we can all agree that we all do something (or say something) that we regret doing or saying. So, in that spirit, the spirit of resolution, of forgiving ourselves and others, that I decided to write an open letter to those who I may have hurt in the past. To those whom this may concern: I know that there are people that look at me as a friend, an inspiration and someone to look up to. It's something that I take great pride in, that I can affect others in that way, to give them hope for a better future.

From the “MuthaFugga Man” at WrestlingBios: #ThankYouBios I wish this video was mine, but I can’t claim it, this amazing video belongs to a real “MuthaFugga” man, someone who is a real legend among Wrestling videos. The channel in question is WrestlingBios, which you can check out at the following video. As a Professional Wrestling fan, the thing I appreciate about WrestlingBios’ videos is the thoroughness with which Ryan (the legend in question) does his research, doing deep dives on topics that are really amazing!! The above video is a key part of that research, summarizing the Monday Night wrestling War in his signature series known as "Relieving the War, which recently concluded with the last WCW Monday Nitro.

Your Wedding Doesn’t Have to Be Long, Loud or Uncomfortable

Weddings can be really hard for autistic & neurodivergent people; it's good to see that sensory-friendly weddings are becoming a thing—especially since “So many couples & guests are taught that exhaustion and overwhelm and anxiety is just part of what a wedding is.”

(Reposting Again) Playing the Draining Game Again…. I'd like to apologize to you, my readers, for taking so long in getting more posts out, but in all honesty, I've been busy, what with work, volunteering and everything else in my life. So much so that I barely have time for doing much else but recharging myself for the next day. That said, though, that doesn't mean I'm going off the blogging grid, far from it, actually. I have some posts in progress that I need to work on. What can I say, it's the perfectionist in me, but I assure you a it'll be worth the wait.
