I didn’t include this context in this story, but I think this is worth remembering: if you work full time at federal min wage ($7.25/hr) you earn just $15,080/year. 138% of fed poverty level is ≈ $10.38/hr full time. More than 20 states use fed min wage.

For the last 40 minutes, we've been monitoring a small group of protesters near Riverpark Square and attempts by Spokane Police, and also Councilmember Paul Dillon and a local organizer, to get the protesters to go home.

We've been unable to identify explicit demands the group have

He also asked officers to remove their gas masks and they did. Seems to be really trying to keep this peaceful. He’s noting the cops are here to protect the marchers as well

Officers tried to stop the march and funnel folks back into the park but they ended up just going around….
