A couple mornings ago, CNBC let Jim Cramer yammer on about reading Death by China again, and he encouraged others to read it. He said Peter Navarro is “more cogent than you might think” (regardless of “Ron Vara”). It ruined my breakfast.
I switched to watching Opening Bell on Bloomberg TV.
I’m watching Christine Lagarde answer question after question with calm, cogent, complete answers.
As an American, I’m not used to this kind of behavior from a woman facing the press.
No smirking? Favoring data over “vibes”? Being respectful to journalist?
WTH is this?
As kids, we threw that word about like confetti. They were pariahs, totally segregated at school: separate busses at separate times, no cafeteria (lunch in the classroom), no school events. Ugly consequences for all of us. Later, we did better & I thought we killed the word. I hate hearing it again.
17.04.2025 03:04 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Exactly. We just said they were awkward or weird (or the r-word). I can armchair diagnose at least half a dozen kids from my school days who were probably on the spectrum, by today’s standards, but were either diagnosed with a generic learning disability, or had no diagnosis at all.

So be wary & rely on good sense more than tech safeguards.
BTW, the charge was legit and my new password is super complex.
Google results from typing "paypal" into the address bar. The first (Sponsored) result says it's "PayPay - Official Sign In" but, the website is dynaweb.live. I added a red arrow pointing to it with the caption "This is NOT PayPal. The second (also sponsored) result is actually PayPal.
Fraudulent PayPal login page on dynaweb that fooled Apple's Passwords app into offering to fill in my credentials with a finger scan. I added arrows to emphasize that dynaweb.live in the address bar does not match paypal.com in the Passwords app dialog box.
The #1 PayPal result on Google is a phishing scam! I got email about a surprise PayPal charge. I tried to go to PayPal on my laptop. Passwords app popped up, but the site said I was locked out & gave a phone #. Their help line gave me weird vibes and I hung up. Then, I checked what happened.

16.04.2025 13:11 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Ok. No matter the agency’s name, being on a government watch list is probably never going to be a good thing for anybody. The government isn’t always meticulous about keeping innocent people off of their lists, or removing them when the error has been reported.

This made me sad. Nothing has any value to Trump, unless the price tag is prominently displayed. Even when he knows someone else values something, he’s prone to destroying it out of spite or laziness.

Photo of Biden’s traditionally elegant Oval Office.
Oval Office photo with arrows pointing out a cluttered frenzy of rococo embellishments and golden decor additions embodying Trumps tackiness.
Trump’s “taste” is what an 8 year old child-laborer thinks “rich” looks like. Life-long access to brilliant art and architecture, and Trump has no appreciation or respect.
More rococo! Shinier gold! Scrooge McDuck has more refined taste!
I really want to build an indoor pool and sunroom attached to my house. But it would be “unreasonably expensive”. Would it be OK to just steal the all the materials and then stiff the builder so it won’t break my budget?
