Only 100 days left in 2025! Any goals for the final stretch of the year?

If you could only read one genre for the rest of your life, what would it be?

You know, it's interesting how one first draft can end up mostly whole and continuous but require a ton of rewriting, while another can have a million incomplete chapters but need almost no rearranging or rewriting.

Every project really is different.

Planned out all my structural edits for my Rumpelstiltskin retelling! Ready to flesh out the MANY missing sections 😂

What's a genre you'd like to try writing in but haven't yet?

For me, it's mystery.

Gonna have to go over my cover letter again soon. My least favorite part is the personalization. I'm just really bad at making it sound sincere even when it really is 😂
Have you written a cover letter for agents? What's the easiest/hardest part?

It feels so crazy to actually be getting close to done with this book! I want to celebrate the accomplishment a bit but never really know how.

How do you like to celebrate your writing wins, both big and small?

I've recently been working out my editing process. It's probably going to be a bit different for each book, but I think I'm finally getting a feel for when and why that's the case.

Do you have a certain editing process, or does it change with each project as well?

For me, it's mystery. I love a good cozy murder and I'm excited to try writing one eventually, but boy does my writer brain not work that way naturally 😂

I think I have never experienced anything as difficult as hunting down two recently published sci-fi novella comp titles in a matter of hours 😂🙃😱💀

That is not an experience I ever hope to repeat 🤣

So, one of my dream agents opened for the first time in years?
And she wants sci-fi novellas??
And I have a complete sci-fi novella???
So speed wrote a query package and sent it off, and now I have officially entered the query trenches for the first time!! 🎉

Been less active the past couple weeks, but things have gotten a little less busy, so gonna make more of an effort here again!

#WritingCommunity, there are a lot of ways to find comp titles. How did you find yours?

I have a finished first draft of a query letter! 🎉 Now to clean it up!

I absolutely despise comp titles. I know they're important, I totally get it, but oh man is finding them a miserable experience 😩
