The velvet beneath me was cool, but inside I burned with hunger. The smoke that curled from my lips wasn’t smoke at all—it was *him*. His scream tore from his essence as I pulled it out, strand by strand, savoring every shiver of resistance. I felt him clawing at me, begging, promising—anything for release. But his words were just a flutter against the walls of my mind, powerless, delicious. His soul was sweet, sharp like wine laced with blood, and as I drew him deeper into myself, I let my blackened lips curl into a smile. The pendant at my throat throbbed, and with a gentle touch I guided the remnants of him downward, into the waiting crystal. I heard him *slam* against its walls, howling, trapped. His light flickered inside the gem, a frantic, suffocated thing, beating against glass that would never break. I whispered to him, low and cruel, my voice honey over poison. *“You belong to me now. Every breath you ever took, every memory, every hope… all of it will wither inside me until you’re nothing but silence.”* His glow dimmed, swallowed by the crystal’s endless black heart, and I reclined deeper into the velvet couch, already craving my next victim. The shadows clung to me like worshippers, and the room seemed to pulse with my power. One soul devoured. Another imprisoned. And eternity stretched before me—hungry, waiting.

The Witcher’s medallion buzzed furiously as Geralt stepped into the crimson-lit chamber. The air reeked of incense and power. Upon the throne of stone and gold chains lounged Delia, the Witch Goddess, her violet hair glowing like twilight flame, her skin marked with sacred tattoos that pulsed faintly with life. Geralt drew steel—yet the blade felt suddenly heavy, impossibly so. With a playful curl of her lips, Delia lifted her hand, jeweled rings glinting in the firelight. “You’ve hunted monsters all your life, White Wolf,” she purred, her voice rich as velvet. “But tell me… what will you do as one so very small?” Before he could answer, she snapped her fingers. The world convulsed. Geralt gasped as the chamber stretched around him into a cathedral of stone, her massive bracelets gleaming above like golden towers. When his vision cleared, he stood no taller than the chain links adorning her chest. Delia leaned forward, eyes glittering with wicked delight, and dangled him between her fingers like a trinket. “You’ll hang here now,” she whispered, fastening him to one of her golden rings as if he were nothing more than an ornament. “A wolf reduced to a charm for his Goddess.” Her laughter echoed, filling the chamber, as Geralt struggled against her hold—tiny, defiant, and forever trapped as hers.

I chose him for silence. He had a loud mouth in life, every word a thorn in my ear, so I desired to still him. The ritual began with grave soil mixed into the ashes, dark and damp. The circle closed around him as I whispered his name. He mocked the process, even as the mirror splintered in my hand—until the first crack of his skin. It spread from his throat, a thin gray line crawling across his chest, then branching into his limbs like veins of marble. His laughter turned to stuttering gasps as his flesh stiffened. I watched his fingers claw upward, desperate to move, but they froze mid-grasp, locked like brittle branches in winter. When his mouth opened to scream, the stone overtook his tongue. He is now forever captured in that moment—eyes wide, jaw agape, horror preserved as art. I placed him in the garden, where moss already curls at his feet. Rain streaks his stone cheeks as though he still weeps. Sometimes, when the wind shifts, I swear I hear the faintest echo of his voice beneath the earth. He has become more beautiful in silence than he ever was in life.

**Journal of the Witch Goddess: Subject #1 “The Chocolate”** Tonight, the spell took hold sweeter than poison. His name was whispered into the ashes, his breath sealed in glass, and with one knot of moonlight thread, his form unraveled. He screamed—oh, how small a scream becomes when the body folds inward, when bone and flesh compress into sugared shell. In my palm he lay: a single piece of chocolate, no larger than a coin. Still warm. Still alive. Still aware. His eyes—gone. His voice—gone. Yet the pulse of his terror lingered in the sweetness, as though each grain of sugar carried his panic. I turned him over in my hand, again and again, debating. To consume him would be to finish the spell utterly. To let him remain would be to keep a soul forever trapped in confection. At last, temptation won. I placed him on my tongue. He melted quickly, terror dissolving into bittersweet silence. And with that swallow, he was gone
