Final recommendation for today, Maryam Al-Kuwari's book "Tribal Reawakening and the Future of State Building in Kuwait and Qatar" is a must-read to understand the domestic layer of these two countries, so different despite sharing the same geo space (the Persian Gulf), culture and religion.

And while we're at it, the study of leadership in foreign policy should be further encouraged. Many case studies come to mind, both in democratic and authoritarian regimes: Putin, George Bush, Hugo Chávez, Javier Milei, Donald Trump, Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Gamal A. Nasser, Angela Merkel... .

Reading about leadership in foreign policy, I came across this wonderful book by Andrea Grove. In this summary table, she outlines the strategies of leaders in foreign policy. Listening to Trump yesterday, his foreign policy strategy will undoubtedly be Framing Threat.
