I might have tried it in a knitting group at library, but too dyslexic to keep up with them after a yr or 2, moved on. I once crocheted a blanket, and husband asked how big am I making it? It was big enough to cover a pickup truck! Lol. I just like keeping hands busy. Now they hurt all the time.

Designed, pre WW2, as a patrol flying boat, the Catalina (a name given to it by the Royal Air Force, then adopted by the US authorities) was built both as a flying boat and an amphibian, in the USA and Canada. This classic design, seen here parked outside one of the hangars at the RAF Museum, Midlands, is in the colours of the Royal Danish Air Force. It was used extensively in the Arctic, and in Greenland it carried everything from food supplies to dog sled teams! The -6A is distinguished by its large radar radome situated directly above the pilots.

And now, for something completely different - the Consolidated PBY-6A Catalina. The last production variant, this Cat was built in April 1945; acquired by the Royal Danish Air Force in 1956. Withdrawn from service in 1970, it was donated to the RAF Museum; seen here at their Midlands branch 🛩️⚔️📍🦆

Stayed in a pink palace near Lisbon, Portugal, across the street a regal museum (w/ formal gardens) had a Don Quixote bedroom. Blew me away! They had period dressed actors throughout the place frozen like manikins, creeped me out, but the American harpist in the next door 5⭐️ restaurant, perfection!
