Sergio AgΓΌero: β€˜Dad never said I played well. He didn’t want me to become cocky’ Now the subject of a new documentary, the former striker opens up on his strict upbringing in Argentina, the heart troubles that ended his career and that Manchester City goal

Quite a bit of insight here into the relationship between Sergio AgΓΌero and his dad, who waited until Sergio retired to tell him he had never seen a better footballer.

Congrats to Captain Kompany also! His first trophy as a manager and he did it in style with Bayern.

Weekend update: the Blues chances of CL next season looks good. Forest lost, Newcastle drew and Villa and Chelsea won. (Arsenal lost and have two more difficult matches), so City looks odds on for a top four finish and an outside chance at 2nd, which would b incredible. β€˜Salvaging’ in progress.

Good news for Citeh! Forest dropping 3 pts last night definitely helped the Blues edge closer to a Champions League spot. Gotta beat Wolves tonight! Definitely maybe. C’mon City! #UTMB #ManCity

An old school thriller at the Etihad v Villa. Nunes and Doku took starring roles at the end. Good to see the team come out strong in the 2nd half. UTMB!

A holding statement from the three Manchester City supporter groups involved in last week's unprecedented mass protest against the club's ticketing policies.
We welcome the freeze in season card prices announced by the club today. It is a victory for fan power and fan action. It is vindication for each one of the thousands of Manchester City supporters who took action vs Leicester last Wednesday, and every supporter who will benefit from it.
However, the freeze itself is not enough. It is a positive step after a decade of price rises – but it is only one of the demands that City Matters put to the club on behalf of the supporters. The others remain:
A reduction in matchday pricing which is still scandalously high, with tickets for the upcoming Aston Villa game priced at Β£71 for an adult and Β£43 for a child
The reintroduction to sale of traditional season cards after years of supporters being unable to buy them despite clear demand
Amend the β€˜Flexi-Gold’ membership to remove the Β£150/Β£175 fee
Offer fans the choice between Flexi-Gold and a traditional seasoncard
Removal of predatory third-party resellers in favour of selling directly to fans with memberships
We hope to see the club engage meaningfully with supporters going forward to make progress so that ALL City fans get a fair deal from the club we love, and future generations of young Blues are not excluded.
As we have seen at other clubs like Tottenham which have announced freezes, the devil is in the details. So we will wait for further news from City Matters ticketing issues in the days and weeks to come, and be prepared to take further actions as and when they are required.

HOLDING STATEMENT:

Today's news is a win for fan power & fan action, but it's only a first step, and many ticket issues remain unsolved.

Also means more money stays in fans' pockets. Reducing chances they, their family or friends may slip into food poverty and need to use the foodbank.

2-0, Leicester were poor but it was good to see Grealish on the scoresheet. Nico O’Reilly looked comfortable again and earned a clean sheet to boot.

Haaland out for two months is not ideal. The only upside is that we won this season 8-0 without him once. #Haaland #ManCity #Futbol #Football #PL

Haaland and Marmoush fire Manchester City to comeback win at Bournemouth Manchester City continue to dream of a silver-lined finish to an underwhelming season. It was a day when Bournemouth were determined to make history by reaching a first semi-final in any major competition and their hopes were high at half-time. Not only had Kepa Arrizabalaga saved an Erling Haaland penalty, they were in front thanks to Evanilson’s scrambled finish. City were on the canvas. They would clamber up in fine style. Haaland had missed other chances and he would be forced off with an injury. But before he went, he had scored the equaliser. The match-winner would be his replacement. Omar Marmoush had been on the field for a matter of minutes and his first involvement was to take a touch before sweeping past Kepa. Continue reading...
