Not to say there aren’t useful tutorials. There absolutely are. But it’s real easy to create a dependency on a predictable grind that attempts to overcome the inherent chance and risk of art making. I wasted years and hours of my time as an artist thinking I could avoid pain with structure #furryart

Everything is just this grift catering to the anxious need to immediately commercialize and make famous your art practice and so the only advice anyone receives is stupid “hacks” meant to get around the simple reality that you get better at drawing by fucking drawing. #furryart

I truly abhor every single DRAW 10 BOXES AND BECOME AN ART GOD type video on YouTube. Like yeah, fundamentals are important and you should practice them, but we’ve created this perception that art is a joyless grind-oriented *task* like everything else, that robs it of its core purpose. #furryart
