Cohen is one of those songwriters (Dylan is another, Neil Young as well) that I really love some of their songs. When someone else sings them. His voice just isn't to my taste, which I recognize is a me problem

I've also got surprising news about most of classical music and huge swaths of jazz, most big name pop stars for the last 70 years not to mention many huge hit songs that were covers (like Tainted Love, or I Love Rock and Roll)

As a musician, it's fun to play songs I love, regardless of who wrote them. It's also pretty hard in a lot of areas to get booked to play shows playing originals because people out at a bar or restaurant or winery (a huge income stream for professional musicians) want to hear songs they know.

More of this. They should not be able to be in public without being spoken to like this.
