- Curses are major plot points in Demon King Daughter. They are like cancer, heart disease, etc. and Exorcists are a public health service. Kiseki, one of Kyoka's aunts, was cursed so badly she lost her biological family to the trauma and stress.

And while Family On The Steps was my favorite of the bunch, it doesn't mean I disliked the others. All were intriguing in their own way.

I enjoyed most of them and even the two that were harder for me to read gave me some things to think about. It was definitely an interesting collection and I look forward to what else comes next for you and the team!

Personally, the first and third stories (especially the third) were hard for me to read (due to the specific types of violence involved), while Family On The Steps was my favorite.

3.75/5 ⭐ Heavy reliance on the miscommunication / betrayal trope, which I really don't enjoy to begin with. I'm also biased for Kane, so it was annoying watching Arwen stand in our way of more spice 😂 I thought the dual POV was well done, including the spice.
