The New ROI: Why Climate Leadership Defines Business Success As climate impacts accelerate and stakeholder expectations harden, sustainability performance has become inseparable from financial performance.

In my recent piece as a Forbes Councils member on Forbes.com, I wrote on what I’m hearing from executives: climate leadership is no longer “nice to have” — it’s becoming a core driver of business success.

But... you can’t manage (or finance) what you can’t measure.

Where is your organization seeing the strongest climate-to-value connection right now? Is it risk reduction, cost savings/efficiency, revenue/innovation, talent, or access to capital? I’m always interested in how leaders are measuring progress and what’s actually moving the needle.

The biggest shift I’m seeing: “ROI” is expanding from short-term returns to long-term value creation, and climate leadership is becoming one of the ways organizations prove they’re built to endure and grow.

As a Forbes Councils member, I recently published a piece on @forbes.com through Forbes Nonprofit Council about why climate leadership is increasingly tied to real-world business outcomes.
