Last week marked a key milestone in the development of the optical subsystem for the #PhotSat payload. The Catalan company #AseOptics, responsible for its design and implementation, successfully passed the Preliminary Design Review (PDR).

✅ PhotSat és el primer satèl·lit astrofísic desenvolupat íntegrament per l’ @ieec.cat, i compta amb #OpenCosmos com a contractista principal.

🌌 La missió rep el suport de la Generalitat de Catalunya, el @cienciagob.bsky.social i el finançament dels fons #EuropeanUnionNextGenerationEU.

🛰️ #PhotSat ja és a la fase final de disseny!

La setmana passada es va assolir una fita important en la definició del subsistema òptic de la càrrega útil. L’empresa catalana #AseOptics, responsable de dissenyar-lo i implementar-lo, va superar la Revisió de Disseny Preliminar (PDR en anglès).

#PhotSat was present at the VIII #RIA-MAD4SPACE 2025 conference on astronomical instrumentation and space exploration held in Madrid last week (21-24 April) to:

#PhotSat va estar present a les VIII jornades #RIA-MAD4SPACE 2025 sobre instrumentació astronòmica i exploració espacial celebrades a Madrid la setmana passada (21-24 d’abril) per:

🗣️ Presentar-hi PhotSat.

🤝 Contactar amb empreses i institucions de recerca del sector #espai.

✅ This validation is part of the final design phase of #PhotSat, the first astrophysics satellite fully developed by @ieec.cat, with the support of the Catalan Government, @cienciagob.bsky.social and funding from the #EuropeanUnionNextGenerationEU programme.

🛰️ #PhotSat keeps moving forward!

This week, the team successfully completed the gamma ray irradiation tests ☢️ at the Centro Nacional de Aceleradores (CNA) in Seville.

🔬 These tests are essential to verify that the payload subsystems can withstand the harsh environment of space 🌌

Aquesta setmana, l’equip ha completat amb èxit els tests d'irradiació amb raigs gamma ☢️ al Centro Nacional de Aceleradores (CNA), a Sevilla.

Aquestes proves són essencials per verificar que els subsistemes de la càrrega útil poden resistir l'entorn extrem de l'espai 🌌
