it's very obvious agendaposting under a thin veil considering the people i see engaging with this will tell you under the same breath "oh by the way it totally is possible to genuinely like sonic 06". insane double standards

i find myself liking some of the 06 redesigns in isolation but as somebody who doesn't like the modern Marza models i can't even say i find them totally ideal over those. look at Omega

im ngl i literally think it's just because of the scope of the story, the idea of bringing sonic In Real, and it being sonic's first ever HD game (a fact of which i think is deeply unfortunate in and of itself lol)

06 is a game where i really do appreciate a lot of what they tried to do. it's pointless getting angry about it now bc it's nearly twenty years old.

i still don't think it's good it genuinely is such a slog to me

from what i understand it's primarily because:

- the characterization is closer to the original intent of the cast (this is the big one)
- it's super ambitious
- the gameplay is closer to SA1
- jason griffith
and i can't really say i agree with any of this aside from exclusively shadow's story

Do not ask how much time I actually spent on this, I hope this is satisfactory

i think a lot of why it's uh. That. gets recontextualized by the fact they made it in eight to nine months. the fact it's even playable is insane to me

anyways it has fishing in it so it's automatically better than 06

both chase trends of the time (open world and ZOMG REALISM!!!!) but only one manages to have control that actually feels, like, somewhat fun

an opinion i see crop up from time to time lately is that frontiers is actually WORSE than 06 and like. what universe am i in because i couldn't disagree less if i wanted to

sonic frontiers was not bad enough for people to be so ballistic about it to this day im sorry man
