Friday 5 December 2025 and a miserable day - pouring with rain, heavy fog and mist and terrible visibility - but what I could see was wonderful- and above the sound of raindrops - the loveliest song of trumpeter swans calling across the water - too beautiful for words ❤️

Update - last week I rescued an injured snow goose (story in my blog) - very sad news today (but not surprising) to hear that she didn’t make it. 😞💔😞
Wildlife rescue people are the best - I can’t imagine how heartbreaking it must be to keep trying so hard to save wildlife 💔

Salmon eggs scattered like fallen jewels on the forest floor ❤️ what a beautiful thing to see!
Delta BC 🇨🇦 (predators - maybe a coyote, an eagle? had taken the salmon) and I found the remains, head and tail and eggs along the trail - returning nutrients to the earth. ❤️❤️❤️

They were flying overhead (the eagles) - the cackling geese all took off in a flurry as you can hear and even the wigeon and Sandhills flapped a bit 😄👍🦅❤️🇨🇦
