Well hopefully the low expectations are just on him and not everyone. Can I be honest it sounds like you want to save him from himself and being a dick. Some people ant be saved no matter how much you care or give them.

Unfortunately in life you never know how long someone will be in your life or the impact they will have. People grow all the time. Sometimes they grow in the wrong direction and all you can do is let them go. If you have the heart like you you can wait to see if they come back to who they were.

If the bike is all that gets him to meet girls then he really needs to take a look at himself. To me the whole point of something like this or threads is to share who you are not be someone different. If you actually want to be someone different then make the change to that person. But don’t pretend

If followers etc is he is worried about then he needs a reality check. Because friends are harder to find then followers and have a much bigger impact on your life. Quality not quantity of interactions. You have a big heart.

Fair play to you for giving him another chance. But there does seem to be a pattern. All I would say is make sure you are doing this because you want to not because you feel you owe him anything for your past connection. Any relationship friends lovers whatever takes 2 to put the effort in.

If you feel you want to share more of your self then go for it
