LIST: BFA in Animation, MA in Illustration, Full Time Job. 28 years old. I have friends and people I care about who care about me, who don't just provide me with delusional lip service and actually try to help me solve problems. I've started my own Studio Practice. I have a wide variety of skills and interests pertaining to the arts and beyond. I did not break out into the industry with my unique perspective and skillset, but I have been the envy of people equally as talented and practiced, or even moreso. I did not realize how deeply I was being overlooked and mistreated until recently, and I only have myself to blame. I aspire to be in spaces where my voice is reached by people who are willing to learn, who are willing to change their minds, who are willing to do the work. One day, I want to teach. I've spent my time cultivating insight and now I'm going to use it.

I've spent a lot of my life trying to get along with people who actually, just suck. It's nobody's fault, but I can only be responsible for myself, so I'm learning how not to do that anymore.

I am not Terminally Online. I do not know and I do not care.

I unpinned my first serious about-post bc it needed to be updated. I tend to have a new one ready at the start of each year, so I figured I would just wait until then. :P In the mean time, here's a little bit about me for anyone who stumbles upon my work otherwise.

The author's interpretation of Anansi the Spider, hunched forward and prowling on all of his arms reminiscent of a kind of monster. He says aloud "I'm gonna' smash yer head in, little lady" to someone in particular. They know who they are.

The same character from the first drawing in an entirely different context. They are holding the decapitated head of a monster shaped like a tiger, and the freshly killed corpse of a smaller monster shaped like a bird. :) It's a metaphor.

Zoomers have a lot to work through as well, but yes, I also felt that the removal of all gravitas at the end of the narrative really came from a millennial perspective. I don't feel like writing an essay about it, but I strongly resonate with your sentiment.

100% agree with your frustration. I'm still playing, but I'm disappointed that an M rated game like this was so eager to sanitize the violence found in mythology, even amidst all the carnage you actually get up to. I don't "hate" it, but I know it's genuinely not good.

There's the illusion of progressiveness and then there's actually real tactile forms of progressive modes of thought and behavior. I don't associate with the former, my work and time only for the latter. I disengage with people who are disinterested in real, quantifiable progress. Everyone should.

moreover, people are not actually humble, especially when they need to be, especially when it's their turn to minimize their egos to learn how to do something better, including interacting with others in a manner that doesn't lead to inhumane treatment. I try not to worry about it anymore.

"why?" because the tools we use have been co-opted to create a perpetual state of instant gratification, minimizing friction and conflict, that is indeed necessary to growth and change. People are isolated in personalized echo chambers that give dopamine = "all confrontation is hostile."
