Hypnospace Outlaw was so good it completely rewired me and my content.

Though frequently categorized as a "kusoge (shit game)," the game falls more in line with the "bakage (stupid game)" label.

It's a game which demands patience and skill in overcoming its obtuseness, where the rewards are genuinely amusing gags at the expense of genre tropes.

This one's fun even if you don't know Japanese, there's quite a few times where it got a laugh out of me back in the day when I played it

This is just every third indie game that (incorrectly) calls itself a roguelike. I played like 6 demos with this exact premise this Nextfest.
