The media reports, over and over, how cold it is in the eastern US, but they're silent about how hot it is in the west. The lower-48 were almost a degree hotter than average in January.
And there's terrible snowpack in the west, critical for water supply, as what little precipitation has been rain.

Tell our Council that Walnut Creek and Concord have safer pedestrian/cyclist crossing infrastructure than we do. Maybe that will get their attention.

We also need Council action to get approval for citywide 20 mph speed limit, then action to enforce it. Talked about for years but nobody does anything to make it happen.

4 way stop at Virginia and Oxford is a huge improvement for everyone. Streets like Shattuck & MKL need full on traffic lights or pedestrian/cycle button lights with timed full stops like in Concord & WC where bike routes cross major roads.
