Across the full range, it translated to more false negatives, which is the main clinical implication.

I completely agree that if this was entirely driven by a reduction in vasopressors then this is more of a process measure than a patient centred outcome, but the supplement suggests ventilation and RRT were also reduced
29.10.2025 18:48 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It didnβt change mortality but reduced organ support by 1 day. Is this not a concrete outcome?

If we design trials to detect superiority based on P<0.05, should we then throw them out as not sufficiently convincing because P=0.04?
Iβd be more concerned whether this is showing the benefit of a complex CRT protocol or a clinician at the bedside.
I donβt think it was site selection, although some of our best recruiting sites were maybe in somewhat less diverse parts of the country. Interesting to reflect on whether there was any lack of equipoise.
12.06.2025 11:15 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 3 π 0Interesting point, Jack. If it reflected the UK population of ventilated patients (see supplement) weβd have expected more like 500 black patients so yes, somewhat under-represented but we would not have anticipated large numbers.

17.04.2025 13:09 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Text reads: Principles of sharing clinical trial results with participants. 1. Trial teams should pro-actively offer overall study results to all clinical trial participants, irrespective of what the results show. 2. Participants should be given the choice of whether to receive research results. 3. Results should be offered to participants in a timely manner. 4. Trial teams should manage participantsβ expectations around when the results will be available. 5. Results should be offered in a way that is accessible to participants, both in terms of the communication mechanism and the content. 6. Patient and public involvement is essential in sharing results with participants. 7. Sharing results with participants requires resources. 8. Consideration needs to be given to potential barriers/challenges to sharing results with participants from the planning stage of the study.
People who take part in #ClinicalTrials and other research have a right to know the results of these studies.
Our 8 principles aim to improve the sharing of trial results with participants. They were developed alongside UK clinical research funders.
